Aminata Maternal Foundation

​The Aminata Maternal Foundation (AMF) is an Australian not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending infant and maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. Established to provide safe delivery and quality maternal health services, AMF also focuses on creating sustainable communities by educating and empowering women. ​

In partnership with the Aberdeen Women's Centre in Freetown, AMF supports pregnant women and young girls to ensure safe childbirth, offering pre- and post-natal care, counseling services, and pathways to education. This collaboration addresses the critical shortage of maternal health professionals in Sierra Leone, aiming to reduce preventable deaths of mothers and babies during childbirth. ​

AMF's initiatives include training midwives, raising awareness about maternal health challenges, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure to create long-lasting change in the region.
