Australian Federation of Disability Organisations

​The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is a national voice representing people with disabilities in Australia. AFDO is governed and staffed primarily by individuals with disabilities. Their mission is to ensure that people with disabilities can fully participate in all aspects of social, economic, political, and cultural life. ​

AFDO collaborates with its member organisations, which are run by and for people with disabilities and their families, to advocate for equitable legislation, policies, and practices. They provide policy advice to the government and work to educate the broader community about disability issues. Their efforts are grounded in the social model of disability, focusing on removing societal barriers to enable full inclusion. ​
